About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern works directly with the Store Manager to learn the retail business and management operations. You will support our mission to provide an enjoyable shopping experience for every guest. This is a hands-on, on-site role that offers a path to develop leadership, recruiting, and merchandising skills.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly attitude and provide service by helping them locate and select merchandise.
- Complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual, including Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating the team, and tracking results.
- Perform operational tasks such as opening and closing cash registers, counting money, and balancing cash drawers.
- Handle freight, prepare merchandise displays, and ensure the sales floor remains organized.
- Provide weekly progress reports to the Area and District Managers.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- No prior retail experience or training is required.
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs in the store and backroom.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
