About the role#
This internship at The Buckle, Inc. offers a practical look into retail management. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand how our business functions and what is required to succeed in a leadership role. This is a rolling, paid, on-site position where you will gain hands-on experience in sales, merchandising, and operations.
What you'll do#
- Perform a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering and maintaining store displays.
- Complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual, covering Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing, and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking your results.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates directly to the Area and District Managers.
- Handle operational duties such as opening and closing cash registers, counting money, and balancing cash drawers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university, with a focus on Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- A strong interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Ability to perform all essential job duties satisfactorily.
