About the role#
The Sales & Management Intern position focuses on creating an enjoyable shopping experience for our guests. You will work closely with the Store Manager to learn how our retail business functions and gain insight into what it takes to succeed in management. This role involves a mix of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering, merchandise displays, and facility maintenance. You will also complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual, provide weekly progress reports, and take ownership of a product category to set sales goals and track results.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly attitude and provide service throughout the store.
- Answer questions regarding the store and our merchandise.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, and store policies.
- Achieve sales goals set by management.
- Assist in visual merchandise management, including sizing the floor and displaying new freight.
- Handle operational tasks such as opening and closing registers, processing transactions, and monitoring for security risks.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking performance on specific tools like denim, accessories, or footwear.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration or Marketing.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
