About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Denver, Colorado. You will work on-site as a member of a tree crew to gain field experience in tree care and plant health. This position is intended for college students who want hands-on training in the environmental services industry.
What you'll do#
- Learn to climb trees and work as part of a professional tree crew.
- Perform tree pruning and removal services according to industry guidelines.
- Prune, thin, and remove deadwood from tree canopies.
- Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
- Assist in the removal of hazardous trees.
- Maintain and operate equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
What you'll need#
- A genuine love for the outdoors.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses upon hire.
- Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
- Preferred: Relevant pesticide or related licenses if required by state law.
