About the role#
The Capital Project Engineering Co-op supports the execution of strategic capital projects, focusing on new process technology, schedule management, and cost control. This role provides direct field exposure to construction in industrial settings and offers insight into operational and engineering processes. You will work alongside professionals while gaining experience on projects within the mining and chemical industry.
What you'll do#
- Support the project manager with meeting management and daily field progress tracking.
- Partner with field contractors to review Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and participate in toolbox talks.
- Complete safety audits to reinforce a strong safety culture.
- Communicate with diverse personnel, including plant operators, engineers, tradespersons, and management.
- Participate in department meetings and project-specific design, schedule, and cost reviews.
- Adhere to company mission, guiding principles, and priorities.
What you'll need#
- Junior level or above by January 2027 pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
- Minimum 2.75 GPA.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to function safely in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
- Basic computer skills and experience working in a team environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, climb stairs, work at heights, and wear a respirator.
Location & details#
- Location: FishHawk site in Lithia, Florida, with regular travel to other sites.
- Term: January 11, 2027, to April 23, 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, 36-40 hours per week, on-site.
- This is a paid position. Housing and relocation assistance may be provided for qualified candidates.
