    About the role#

    This is a full-time electrical engineering co-op or internship position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site, primarily based in Bartow, Florida, with occasional travel to other sites. The term runs from January 11, 2027, to April 23, 2027. You will work 36 to 40 hours per week.

    What you'll do#

    • Manage and support electrical power system reliability improvement projects.
    • Participate in root cause failure analysis and carry out corrective actions.
    • Troubleshoot electrical power system issues, including faults, equipment failures, and outages.
    • Perform software-based electrical power system modeling, including field verification and data collection.
    • Expand electrical power system relay networks.
    • Analyze existing preventative maintenance plans and develop new ones.
    • Communicate with plant operators, management, engineers, tradespersons, and contractors.

    What you'll need#

    • You are at least a third-year student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering as of January 2027.
    • A GPA of 2.7 or higher.
    • Basic knowledge of electrical theory, including AC distribution, transformation, AC/DC motor control, and power/analog/digital electronics.
    • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
    • Ability to work in an industrial mining and chemical environment.
    • Basic computer skills and experience working in a team.
    • Experience with electrical power system modeling software is an asset.

    • Locations: Bartow, FL and Tampa, FL.
    • Work modality: On-site.
    • This position is paid.
    • Housing and relocation assistance may be provided for qualified candidates.
    • Candidates must pass a pre-employment background check, drug and alcohol screening, and physical/functional capacity examination.
