About the role#
The Insure Your Future internship is an introductory program designed to provide hands-on experience across the insurance life cycle. You will gain foundational knowledge in Finance, the Center of Operations, and Claims. Throughout the summer, you will collaborate with team members and leaders to understand the daily operations of the insurance industry, including business strategy and profitability.
What you'll do#
- Learn the operational requirements for Finance, Center of Operations, and Claims.
- Attend and participate in team and leader meetings.
- Shadow team members to observe underwriting decisions, relationship building, and daily workflows.
- Participate in intern-sponsored activities and professional learning experiences.
- Complete four specific learning sessions with the Insure Your Future Committee.
What you'll need#
- You are a college freshman or sophomore currently attending an eligible four-year university in Iowa.
- You are pursuing a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Real Estate, or Computer Science.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to share information clearly.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- A proactive, self-disciplined approach with a strong work ethic and the ability to take ownership of tasks.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based at the home office at 1111 Ashworth Road, West Des Moines, Iowa.
- You must be able to attend the office in person, following a hybrid or on-site schedule.
