About the role#
Whittier Trust Company offers a 10-week summer internship program for students interested in wealth management. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will work directly with our Client Advisory and Portfolio Management teams to support high-net-worth clients and their families. This role provides exposure to investment management, fiduciary services, and family office operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist Client Advisors with daily account management and business development tracking in Salesforce.
- Build and update financial models and conduct market and company research.
- Create custom reports, including cash flow analyses and balance sheets.
- Collect and organize equity, fixed income, and economic research data using tools like Bloomberg and FactSet.
- Analyze earnings conference calls and monitor portfolio sector alignment.
- Maintain and track composite performance data.
- Attend and assist with client events.
- Research, write, and present a major project to the investment team.
- Handle administrative tasks such as presentation creation and document preparation.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for Finance or Economics majors.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including advanced Excel proficiency.
- Excellent academic credentials and intellectual curiosity.
- Emotional intelligence and professional maturity.
- Demonstrated interest in the wealth management industry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Involvement in extra-curricular activities.
Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2027 (10 weeks starting June 7, 2027).
- Locations: Pasadena, West LA, San Francisco, San Diego, and other California offices, plus Seattle, WA and Reno, NV.
- Authorization: Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.
