    About the role#

    The Vocational Student Worker position at The Timken Company offers students a chance to gain experience through rotational assignments. You will work on manufacturing, inspection, and assembly operations while developing professional skills in an industrial environment.

    What you'll do#

    • Read part drawings, process sequence sheets, and setup charts to guide your work.
    • Select tooling and prepare grinding wheels as needed.
    • Cycle machines to create test pieces, check parts, and make necessary adjustments.
    • Inspect components to ensure they meet quality specifications.
    • Use gaging techniques to measure components and check that gages are calibrated correctly.
    • Assemble parts within a clean room environment.
    • Perform visual inspections for surface quality and finish.
    • Report operating issues to your supervisor and keep your work area clean.
    • Follow and maintain all process documentation.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a local technical school program focused on manufacturing processes.
    • A history of achieving goals.
