About the role#
The Technical Direction team integrates design fields to support live show offerings, including parades, stage shows, and special events. This internship focuses on maintaining Disney standards across all technical and design materials. You will work alongside technical directors, designers, safety teams, and engineers to bring live experiences to life.
What you'll do#
- Support the technical production process by producing documentation, technical intent, and drawing packages.
- Survey on-site locations to ensure proper technical integration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and facility staff.
- Create and maintain sustainment documentation.
- Assist with design and technical research as well as updates to project deliverables.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior, senior, or graduate student (MFA) in a technical design-related field, such as Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Industrial Design.
- Practical experience in theatre or live events with a solid understanding of the performing arts industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Working knowledge of drafting software including AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and Revit.
- A valid US driver’s license.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Kissimmee and Orlando, Florida.
- The term runs from January 2027 through June 2027.
- This role is on-site and requires a consistent work schedule.
