    About the role#

    This internship provides hands-on experience in timber harvesting, wood procurement, and forest operations. You will work directly with procurement foresters and industry professionals to support mill operations. This role is designed to connect your classroom learning with real-world projects in the forestry industry.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist procurement foresters with harvest planning and operational tasks.
    • Participate in timber harvest inspections and field assessments.
    • Support the implementation and monitoring of Forestry Best Management Practices.
    • Help with contractor and landowner engagement activities.
    • Collect field data and prepare reports regarding procurement operations.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Forestry, Forest Resources, Natural Resources, or a related field.
    • Completion of forestry summer camp coursework.
    • A valid driver license and the ability to operate a four-wheel-drive pickup truck.
    • Ability to work outdoors across varying terrain and weather conditions.

    • Locations: Moundville, Alabama or Thomasville, Alabama.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • This is a paid, full-time internship. A housing allowance is provided.
