About the role#
The Office Assistant provides administrative support to the North Russell residential community. You serve as a key resource for residents, visitors, and staff while helping maintain a secure living environment. This role involves balancing daily clerical tasks with front-desk responsibilities to support the mission of Campus Living and Learning.
What you'll do#
- Monitor door security and alert appropriate staff to any issues.
- Assist residents with room access, equipment check-outs, and general inquiries.
- Maintain accurate logs for maintenance requests, lost and found items, and gift registries.
- Greet visitors and provide customer service to a diverse population.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail and phone calls.
- Complete data entry, document preparation, and filing tasks.
- Organize office supplies and common areas.
- Uphold all university policies and ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information.
What you'll need#
- Strong typing skills and the ability to learn front-desk software.
- Effective time management and the ability to work well within a team.
- Sound judgment to handle student needs or urgent situations.
- A commitment to regular and punctual attendance.
Location & details#
- Location: North Russell Hall, Waco, Texas.
- Schedule: Desk hours run from 7 am to 1 am daily, with exceptions for holidays and move-in periods.
- Status: This is a paid, on-site student position with ongoing, rolling employment.
