About the role#
TPC Las Vegas is looking for a DoD Skillbridge Military Intern to join our culinary operations team. This internship is for transitioning service members interested in gaining experience in a professional kitchen environment. You will work directly with our executive chefs and culinary leadership to support back of house operations at our golf course property.
What you'll do#
- Maintain high standards for food production to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Keep the kitchen, storage, and dumpster areas clean and organized at all times.
- Perform cooking tasks including breading, thawing, proofing, and baking.
- Prepare meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables for roasting and grilling.
- Follow recipes to prepare stocks and basic soups.
- Use scales and dishers to portion ingredients accurately.
- Use knives and mechanical equipment like slicers and food processors to slice, dice, and chop.
- Set up and break down banquet platters and plated meals according to event orders.
- Manage food production timing to meet lunch and dinner service goals.
- Assist with waste removal and box breakdown.
What you'll need#
- You must be a transitioning service member.
- A high school diploma or equivalent education.
- At least 6 months of experience in food preparation, kitchen maintenance, or culinary trades training.
- A basic understanding of safe food handling procedures.
- The ability to stand, walk, and use your hands for kitchen tasks for the duration of your shift.
- The ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
