About the role#
As an Algorithmic Trader Intern at TransMarket Group, you will work alongside Junior and Senior Traders to learn the mechanics of automated trading. This role focuses on relative value arbitrage and the use of software to manage risk and capture market opportunities. You will participate in a formalized educational program while contributing to research projects and real-time trading operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with all facets of automated trading by collaborating with experienced traders.
- Develop expertise in market microstructure, tick data, and automated systems.
- Build and maintain quantitative model tools and analytics.
- Develop, code, and support production-quality automated trading strategies.
- Master new programming languages and perform time series analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in a technical field or Finance.
- A minimum major GPA of 3.5/4 or equivalent.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming, specifically C++, Python, or Java.
- A strong foundation in computing, mathematics, probability, statistics, and linear algebra.
- Demonstrated interest in markets and trading through competitions, personal projects, or relevant student groups.
- Experience with data analysis, quantitative modeling, or machine learning.

- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Chicago, Illinois.
- The term is rolling.
