About the role#
The Claim Professional Development Program (CPDP) Intern role offers first-hand experience in the insurance industry. You will gain exposure to Personal and Business Insurance claims while working with a designated manager or mentor to build your professional skills. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Morristown, New Jersey.
What you'll do#
- Complete structured onboarding to learn Travelers systems and internal protocols.
- Review Personal and Business Insurance claims of basic to moderate complexity.
- Learn strategies for investigating, negotiating, and resolving claims.
- Determine coverage, estimate damages, and document the details of loss events.
- Observe claim professionals through desk work and ride-alongs.
- Build a foundation in customer service, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
- Complete project work assigned by your manager.
What you'll need#
- You must have obtained or be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Interest in pursuing a career in the insurance industry.
- Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship.
