About the role#
TRUMPF is seeking a Technical Engineering Sales Intern for our Flexible Systems Department. This role provides practical experience to support our engineering team at our Hoffman Estates, Illinois location. This is a full-time, paid internship running from January 2027 through August 2027. You will work on-site for at least 24 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Support layout engineers with daily tasks.
- Prepare layout and foundation drawings.
- Process building scans.
- Create system 3D assemblies.
- Develop technical documentation including system configuration overviews.
- Draft guidelines for the layout process.
- Manage the technical library by creating a SmartSheet dashboard.
- Write work instructions.
What you'll need#
- You must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks 3D modeling software.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- A solid technical understanding of process flows.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

- Compensation: $18 to $25 per hour.
