About the role#
The Technical Sales Intern supports our sales team by combining technical knowledge with customer-focused communication. This role provides exposure to sales strategy, customer engagement, product applications, and technical problem-solving within a professional environment. You will work directly with Sales, Applications, and Service teams to support customer projects and business development initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Execute all work safely according to Voith policies, OSHA regulations, and customer requirements.
- Participate in onsite customer technical sales meetings, product demonstrations, and technical discussions.
- Assist in preparing technical presentations, proposals, quotations, and product documentation.
- Travel to customer sites to perform testing, inspections, and attend meetings.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and customer service teams to develop customer solutions.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends.
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide basic technical support under supervision.
- Develop sales tools, training materials, and marketing collateral.
- Complete at least one assigned project, including a formal report out to senior management and stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor program for Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- A focus on pulp and paper studies is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to learn technical products and communicate complex concepts clearly.
- Ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
