About the role#
Turner Construction Company is hiring an Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Detroit, Michigan. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will work under supervision to build foundational knowledge in construction management, project safety, and quality control. This role is designed to support your academic learning and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Support the project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, and file management.
- Assist with the collection and review of information for shop drawings and submittals.
- Attend project site visits to observe and document field activities.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety programs.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and studies for project items.
- Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and project partners as directed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Architecture.
- An academic background related to construction management.
- A willingness to learn about the construction industry.
- The ability to follow project site signage and supervisor instructions.
- Capability to comply with all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment.
