About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern at United Launch Alliance, you will gain hands-on experience in the aerospace industry. You will support experienced engineers, shadow actual operations, and contribute to larger projects. This internship provides exposure to the day-to-day workings of engineering at a space launch company.
What you'll do#
- Architect, design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy software products.
- Maintain engineering software infrastructure that supports real-time systems.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and development.
- Collaborate with hardware and analysis engineers on system architecture and design.
- Apply standards, processes, and tools throughout the system development life cycle while ensuring quality control.
- Perform technical planning, requirements management, and risk analyses.
- Develop software to simulate physical systems and real-time operations.
- Create and integrate advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools.
What you'll need#
- Completed Sophomore year of college or university by summer 2027.
- Minimum college GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
- Enrolled in classes during the Fall Semester 2027.
- Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
- Experience with C++, C, JavaScript, Python, Shell, or Perl.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR 22 CFR 120.62.
