About the role#
The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) at Sacramento State is hiring a Graduate Student Assistant to provide program support. This position involves assisting with daily operations, student guidance, and project coordination within a program dedicated to helping students from migrant and seasonal farm-worker backgrounds succeed in college.
What you'll do#
- Serve as a project lead on various assignments, including coordinating logistics for meetings, conferences, and training.
- Meet with students one-on-one to provide academic and financial guidance.
- Present at meetings, events, and training sessions.
- Research effective program implementation practices and potential funding opportunities.
- Conduct student-based focus groups to gather qualitative data and write reports on findings.
- Handle clerical tasks such as email support, front-desk duties, and managing correspondence.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- Current enrollment in a Graduate Program at Sacramento State.
- Strong organizational, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple projects at once.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional etiquette.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Graduate assistants generally work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks.
- Employment Status: Part-time, temporary, non-benefited position.
