About the role#
The University Union at Sacramento State is hiring a Sound & Light Technician to manage audio-visual needs for campus events. This is a part-time, student assistant position open to current Sacramento State students. You will work in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings across the facility.
What you'll do#
- Operate built-in lighting and sound systems for events.
- Manage projection systems and spotlights.
- Run portable sound systems, including a 24 channel mixer.
- Set up and operate hybrid meeting AV carts.
- Perform physical tasks, including lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Sacramento State student.
- Reliability and the ability to work with little direct supervision.
- Availability for a varied schedule that includes nights and weekends.
- Prior experience with sound or lighting systems is preferred.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Generally up to 20 hours per week during the academic year, with up to 40 hours during breaks. Hours are dependent on event schedules.
- Compensation: $17.15 per hour.
