About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring a Student Assistant to support the Office of Fleet and Asset Management within the Department of General Services. This role provides practical experience in accounts payable and fleet operations. You will work under the supervision of a Staff Services Manager to learn state accounting laws and programs. This is a part-time, on-site position based in Sacramento.
What you'll do#
- Process maintenance and repair vendor invoices using Fleet Focus, FI$CAL, FAS, and ServiceNow.
- Verify invoice amounts, categorize expenditures, and identify invoicing errors.
- Research and resolve vendor payment inquiries.
- Coordinate with the Records Retention Officer to file, retain, and dispose of documents.
- Verify vendor status using the Approved Auto Repair Vendor search engine and FI$Cal.
- Provide courier services within the Sacramento area using a state vehicle.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- A valid California driver's license.
- Ability to reside and work in California.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. You may work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours during breaks.
- Pay: $18.27 to $23.01 per hour.
