About the role#
This position supports the Office of Fleet and Asset Management in Sacramento. You will assist the Maintenance and Repair Invoicing Unit with daily accounts payable tasks. This is a part-time, on-site role that offers practical experience in state accounting procedures and fleet operations.
What you'll do#
- Process maintenance and repair vendor invoices using Fleet Focus and FI$CAL software.
- Research and resolve vendor payment inquiries to prevent late penalties.
- Coordinate with the Records Retention Officer to manage document filing and disposal.
- Verify vendor status using approved search engines and RFQ packages.
- Perform courier services within the Sacramento area using a state vehicle.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a college student in at least six-semester or nine-quarter units.
- A declared major in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- A valid California driver's license.

- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexible hours determined by your supervisor.
- Status: Part-time, temporary, and non-benefited.
