About the role#
The Office of Contract Management at Caltrans is hiring a Student Assistant to work in a learning capacity. You will support the Division of Planning and Modal Program Management by handling general business tasks, data entry, and electronic file management. This position offers a chance to gain professional experience while working under the supervision of the Branch Chief.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation and quality analysis of reports.
- Help manage contract intake requirements and general contract analysis.
- Update office procedures and organize digital files.
- Participate in monthly workload standards meetings.
- Use standard office equipment including computers, printers, and scanners.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student in a relevant major, such as Business Administration, Economics, Communications, Psychology, Political Science, Accounting, Finance, or Operations Management.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six semester units or nine quarter units.
- A minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and a dependable approach to work.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Sacramento, California.
- Work is performed in a hybrid environment, and you must reside in California for the duration of your employment.
- This is a part-time, non-benefited position with a flexible schedule between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
- You may work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during breaks.
