About the role#
Kirmayer Fitness Center is looking for a student worker to serve as an Intramural Official. You will oversee sports contests and help maintain a safe environment for all participants. This is a part-time position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Officiate intramural sports games to ensure fair and consistent play.
- Apply sport-specific training and established standards during matches.
- Set up courts and fields before games begin.
- Verify final scores with a signature after each game.
- Assist game monitors with assigning sportsmanship grades to teams.
- Help train new officials and support staff with special events or field maintenance.
- Attend required officials meetings and clinics.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Knowledge of general intramural policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with sport-specific training standards.
- Preference is given to students studying Kinesiology, Health Administration, Public Health, Communications, or Business Administration.
Location & details#
- Location: Kansas City, Kansas.
- Work environment: On-site.
- Schedule: Afternoon and evening hours Monday through Friday, with various weekend and occasional early morning shifts.
