About the role#
The Communications Intern supports the development and refinement of communication channels at Vermeer. You will assist with internal creative services, event planning, and general communication tasks. This role involves writing, editing, and managing design layouts while measuring the effectiveness of messages for employees and stakeholders.
What you'll do#
- Create communication messages using graphics, photography, audio visual elements, and web design.
- Coordinate with the Creative Services team to execute projects.
- Plan and edit content for organizational initiatives to support employee engagement.
- Identify story ideas by gathering information from internal and external sources.
- Maintain archives for communication graphics, photos, and audio visual files.
- Demonstrate Vermeer characteristics including a caring culture, agility, and customer focus.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors degree program for Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or Marketing.
- High School diploma.
- Strong writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Flexibility to manage multiple tasks.
- Basic computer skills, with a willingness to learn design software.
- Previous internship experience is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Pella, Iowa.
- The internship follows a rolling term.
