About the role#
The Systems Engineer Intern works with the team to develop, test, and implement control systems. You will help create design standards, review prototypes, and perform audits to ensure machinery meets internal requirements.
What you'll do#
- Write control systems specifications to guide software development.
- Test application software code against specifications.
- Run simulations and tests on hardware and software.
- Review wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Design wire harnesses, control panels, sensor mounts, and wire routing.
- Specify control system components.
- Identify and resolve electrical quality or reliability issues.
- Assist in building prototypes and documenting design changes for existing machines.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Electrical, Mechanical, or Control Engineering.
- Ability to create electrical drawings and build harnesses.
- Experience with machine control system testing and electro-hydraulic control system design.
- Knowledge of electronics, electrical systems, and controls.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Clear oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to produce accurate, professional documentation.
- A previous internship is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position located in Piedmont, South Carolina.
- The role follows a rolling term.
