About the role#
The Machine Learning Fellowship at the Innovation and Engineering Center California focuses on applying machine learning to the automotive industry. You will work with a team of AI researchers and engineers to develop methods for sensor data processing and automated driving. This is a full-time, paid fellowship with a minimum 6-month commitment.
What you'll do#
- Handle data pre-processing tasks, including label checking and formatting.
- Build data pipelines to support the training of deep neural networks.
- Benchmark and report on the performance of various neural network models.
- Research new network architectures for time series prediction and anomaly detection.
- Explore supervised and unsupervised learning methods for perception tasks, such as estimating depth, motion, and velocity.
- Investigate neural networks for camera image interpretation, including object detection and segmentation.
- Fuse neural networks to optimize memory usage and computational footprint.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or graduation within the last six months from a Masters or PhD program.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Practical experience working with Linux.
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Knowledge of image processing and machine learning principles.

- Compensation: $38/hr for Masters candidates and $42/hr for PhD candidates.
