About the role#
The Partnerships & Civic Health Intern serves as a link between the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) and Vot-ER. You will support efforts to grow and deepen relationships with health institutions across the country. This role focuses on strengthening current organizational ties, onboarding new partners, and managing the Emergency Patient Voting (EPV) Program.
What you'll do#
- Support the Deputy Director of Partnerships by maintaining regular communication with existing partners.
- Identify and onboard new health-related organizations to expand the national footprint.
- Prepare mobilization strategies and communication assets for Civic Holidays like National Voter Registration Day.
- Train health professional students to help patients access voting during unexpected hospitalizations.
- Create educational materials and bedside toolkits to assist with emergency ballot requests.

- Active membership in APAMSA.
- Documentation confirming you will receive academic credit for this internship.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and inclusion.
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position.
- The term covers Summer 2026 and Fall 2026.
- Expected commitment is 15 to 20 hours per week.
- This is an unpaid internship requiring academic credit.

Vot-ER is a nonprofit organization that integrates civic engagement into healthcare settings. It operates in over 500 hospitals and clinics. The organization helps patients and staff register to vote. It was founded in 2020 and currently employs 33 people.
