About the role#
This internship with the Corporate Marketing team focuses on building a competitive intelligence and market benchmarking framework for Watts. You will conduct research, analyze market positioning, and identify industry trends to help inform strategic business decisions. This role reports to the Marketing department and offers a look into how business operations function from the inside.
What you'll do#
- Partner with Product Management and Marketing teams to organize products and define benchmarking frameworks.
- Build competitive matrices to identify competitors, market positioning, and strategic relevance.
- Research and develop competitor profiles, including pricing, distribution channels, and product portfolios.
- Benchmark Watts products against competitor offerings based on specifications, features, and pricing.
- Conduct research to identify industry trends, growth opportunities, customer needs, and regulatory changes.
- Gather information from industry publications, market reports, trade sources, and internal stakeholders.
- Analyze findings to prepare reports, presentations, and strategic recommendations for leadership.
- Help develop a repeatable competitive monitoring process, including reporting templates and tracking mechanisms.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and agency partners to validate findings.
- Present research and recommendations to business stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current student with senior status pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Strategy, Market Research, or a related field.
- Strong research, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise business insights.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Demonstrated commitment to integrity, respect, and accountability.
- Understanding of applicable laws, policies, and safety practices.
- Coursework or experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or business strategy is preferred.
- Familiarity with B2B, industrial manufacturing, or distribution business models is helpful.
- Technical or engineering background is a plus.
- Must successfully establish employment eligibility and complete background checks.
Location & details#
- Location: North Andover, Massachusetts.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid. You will work in the office Monday through Wednesday and remotely on Thursday and Friday.
- Compensation: $21-$23 per hour.
- This is a full-time internship.
