About the role#
Wayside Youth & Family Support Network offers clinical internship opportunities for second or final year Master level students. This role involves working with families and individuals facing serious emotional disturbances through community-based interventions. Interns join a team that uses Wraparound, Motivational Interviewing, and strength-based models of care.
What you'll do#
- Perform intakes and clinical assessments.
- Create and maintain individual care plans and treatment plans.
- Provide follow-up care and on-going treatment.
- Coordinate care for families and individuals by seeking resources and services.
- Collaborate with various providers and systems.
- Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings and intern seminars.
- Work in multiple settings, including office environments, home visits, and community meetings.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a second or final year Master level student.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for community travel.
- Ability to pass a CORI check.
- Completion of Wayside’s Pre-service Orientation.
- A background in health and human services or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole is an asset.
Location & details#
- Location: Framingham, Massachusetts.
- Schedule: Minimum of 20 hours per week, including two evenings per week.
- Term: Rolling.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship. A stipend of $5,000 per year is available for final year Master level students, with an additional $1,000 for language differential.
