About the role#
WhiteWater is looking for a Commercial Operations Intern to join the accounting department in downtown Austin for Summer 2027. This role provides hands-on experience with accounting transactions, month-end close processes, and operational contract analysis. You will work on-site and support team projects while gaining exposure to daily accounting activities.
What you'll do#
- Enter accounting data into the ERP system.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and perform account reconciliations.
- Assist the accounting team in developing procedures to improve workflow efficiency and maintain internal controls.
- Help the operations department interpret new revenue contracts and determine revenue recognition under ASC 606.
- Evaluate accounting treatments for term easements under ASC 842.
- Present a summary of your skills and knowledge gained to management at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least four semesters of college or university coursework.
- Current enrollment in a Finance or Accounting degree program.
- At least 9 credit hours in accounting courses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple tasks.

- This is a paid internship. You must provide your own housing.
