About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Darien, Illinois. You will work on-site at assigned projects in the Chicagoland area, gaining experience in the transportation and infrastructure sector. This role involves working directly with supervising engineers to support construction operations.
What you'll do#
- Inspect and monitor contractor operations under the guidance of supervising engineers.
- Review and interpret construction plans to identify and correct errors in calculations.
- Organize and maintain accurate construction records.
- Participate in team and client meetings held both in the office and on-site.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program for Civil Engineering.
- A genuine interest in transportation and infrastructure projects.
- Strong communication, organization, and computer skills.
- Reliable transportation to travel to assigned job sites.
- Previous design or delivery experience is a plus.
