About the role#
WSP is seeking a full-time Electrical Engineering (Generation) Intern to join our Power and Energy team in Overland Park, Kansas. This 12-week summer program begins May 17, 2027, and offers exposure to real projects while working alongside senior staff. You will receive mentorship and networking opportunities through our Developing Professionals Network.
What you'll do#
- Support various engineering tasks to build technical and ethical skills.
- Learn basic principles of electrical engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Support the preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training tasks.
- Adhere to company policies and exercise responsible decision-making regarding resources.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate, master, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to follow direction from managers and mentors.
- A track record of upholding workplace safety and company conduct policies.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is preferred.
