    About the role#

    WSP is seeking a full-time Electrical Engineering intern for the Summer 2027 program. This role is based in Lakewood, Colorado, and involves hands-on work with our Power and Energy team. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects for utility, industrial, and commercial clients, including conventional and renewable generation facilities, substations, and transmission systems.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in performing electrical studies and developing SCADA systems.
    • Support power system planning studies, including power flow and voltage stability analysis.
    • Design and configure networking and communications for SCADA and protection systems.
    • Prepare and program data acquisition systems and develop HMI screens.
    • Assist with protective relaying tasks, such as short circuit analysis and relay settings.
    • Contribute to infrastructure design studies like substation grounding and power quality analysis.
    • Develop logic and control schemes for power system equipment.

    What you'll need#

    • Active enrollment in an accredited Electrical Engineering or related undergraduate program.
    • Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
    • Must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Completion of junior-level courses in power system analysis or power system protection is preferred.
    • Ability to work on-site in Lakewood, Colorado.

    • Location: Lakewood, CO.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (12-week program starting May 17, 2027).
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $23.90 - $31.11 per hour.
    • This is a paid, full-time internship. No relocation or housing assistance is provided.
