About the role#
WSP is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern for our Philadelphia office. This is a full-time, on-site position for the summer of 2027. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects to gain practical experience. The program runs for 12 weeks, starting in May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering tasks to build your technical skills.
- Join a project team focused on the design of bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.
- Assist in the preparation of final design plans for infrastructure projects.
- Create design calculations and cost estimates.
- Complete necessary training for your assigned tasks.
- Follow company policies, including the Code of Conduct, and manage resources responsibly.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program for Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- An anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- A demonstrated interest in structural engineering and a desire to improve your professional skills.
- Good communication skills for interacting with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
- Ability to take direction from managers and mentors.
- Proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and harassment policies.
