About the role#
The Renewable Operation Center (ROC) is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented intern to support our growing renewable generation fleet. This role provides hands-on experience with real-time operations, data-driven decision-making, and site performance optimization. You will work alongside ROC Operators and the analytics team to drive continuous improvement, assist with daily operational reporting, and use predictive tools to refine maintenance strategies.
What you'll do#
- Support analytical and operational initiatives under the guidance of the ROC Senior Operations Manager and Senior Analyst.
- Collaborate with ROC Operators, analysts, engineering, IT, and transmission teams to implement technical efficiencies.
- Collect, validate, and organize operational data for reporting, trend analysis, and post-event reviews.
- Assist with the generation of daily, weekly, and monthly regulatory and operational metric reports.
- Identify and escalate potential indicators of equipment degradation.
- Participate in local plant SCADA testing, database organization, team meetings, and project planning.
- Help develop and maintain dashboards to track performance trends and operational risks.
What you'll need#
- Current student status (Junior or higher as of Fall 2027) at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year.
- Strong technical skills demonstrated through coursework or extracurricular activities.
- Capacity to learn Microsoft Excel, Python, Java, VBA, SQL, R, PowerBI, SCADA systems, and network communication systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an analytical, inquisitive mindset.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

- Compensation: Paid position ($20.90 to $22.10 per hour).
