About the role#
The Enterprise AI Enablement team at Xcel Energy helps employees adopt and scale AI technologies. As an intern, you will support adoption programs, training initiatives, and communications. You will work with business units and AI leaders to help employees find new ways to improve productivity and business processes using AI tools.
What you'll do#
- Assist with AI adoption and employee enablement programs.
- Help develop training materials, guides, and learning content.
- Support AI workshops, demonstrations, and employee engagement activities.
- Collect and document AI success stories and business value outcomes.
- Analyze usage and adoption data to identify trends.
- Support ongoing improvements to AI resources, websites, and knowledge repositories.
What you'll need#
- Current student, Junior or higher, enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or Business Administration.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week).
- Ability to commute to the office in-person.
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, SQL, Power Platform, or similar technologies.
- Experience using AI tools like Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or GitHub Copilot.
- Familiarity with automation, APIs, or low-code platforms.
- Experience building applications, websites, or technical projects.
- Basic programming or scripting experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 tools.
Location & details#
- Locations: Denver, Colorado or Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- Term: Summer 2027 (starting May 24, 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Employment type: Full-time (summer), part-time (school year).
- Compensation: $18.20 to $19.50 per hour.
