About the role#
Young Life Military offers a long-term internship for those who want to serve and grow in their faith. You will work alongside experienced staff at a United States military installation. This role focuses on incarnational and relational ministry, where you will build community and provide a supportive environment for military teens. You will serve as a role model and help teens develop friendships and hope.
What you'll do#
- Meet weekly with supervising staff to review ministry goals.
- Participate in leading Club Beyond club meetings and small group sessions.
- Create a 90-day personal growth plan that includes prayer, reflection, and Bible study.
- Attend Chapel on the installation and participate in volunteer leader meetings.
- Meet weekly with a volunteer to support their involvement.
- Learn to recruit and train new leaders to build a diverse leadership team.
- Assist with community outreach efforts and lead volunteers in youth ministry.
- Communicate monthly updates to your personal donor partners.
- Discuss financial support goals with your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- You must have graduated high school at least 2 years ago.
- A deep love for Christ and for teens who do not yet know him.
- Strong initiative and an energetic approach to ministry.
- A teachable heart and the ability to communicate clearly.
- Experience or skills in planning small events.
- A commitment to relational ministry and the ability to adapt to military culture.
- A willingness to raise part of your budget through personal support.
- Preferred backgrounds include studies in Psychology, Sociology, or Political Science.

- This position is located in Washington, United States.
- The role is on-site and requires you to live near the community where you serve.
- This is a full-time, paid internship with rolling start dates.
- You will be expected to raise a portion of your salary through personal donor support.
