About the role#
Zipline’s Program Management team ensures we meet company goals on time and on budget. You will be embedded within our hardware teams, working alongside engineers to design, build, and test our drones and ground infrastructure. You will define team priorities and drive execution of key milestones.
What you'll do#
- Identify and mitigate technical and program risks to keep programs on track.
- Lead decision-making processes and trade-off studies.
- Define program timelines, milestones, and critical paths.
- Support cross-functional teams across electrical, mechanical, and embedded software domains.
- Coordinate prototype and test activities to validate hardware designs.
- Report program updates to leadership.
- Manage infrastructure builds for test campaigns and track hardware sample allocations.
- Organize and facilitate meetings to align cross-functional groups on parts, quality, and hardware changes.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least the second year of undergraduate studies in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering. Masters and PhD students are also eligible.
- A strong technical background.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex challenges and solutions to both engineers and non-engineers.
- Ability to pick up technical concepts rapidly.
- Skill in driving clarity amidst ambiguity.
- A bias for action and extreme ownership.
- Eligibility to work in the US.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in South San Francisco, California.
- You must be able to work in the office 5 days a week.
- The internship term is Summer 2027, running from May or June through August or September.
