About the role#
This position is based at Aurora Sinai Medical Center. You will work as a pharmacy intern under the supervision of a pharmacist to support patient care and pharmacy operations. This is a part-time role with a schedule that includes rotating weekends and PM shifts designed to fit around your school commitments.
What you'll do#
- Perform pharmacy technician duties including filling medication orders and delivering medications.
- Compound sterile and non-sterile preparations.
- Interview patients to obtain medication histories.
- Enter outpatient prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system.
- Manage medication ordering, receipt, stocking, and inventory control.
- Handle clerical tasks to maintain efficient pharmacy operations.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current enrollment in the first year of an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Required registrations and licenses include: Intern registration in NC, SC, and GA; Licensure in GA (intern) and IL (tech); Tech registration in WI; and a permit in AL.
- Proficiency with computers and strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting 35 pounds, pushing a 50-pound cart, and standing or walking for extended periods.
