About the role#
Aecon is hiring a Co-op Estimator to support the delivery of accurate cost estimates, budgets, and schedules for construction projects. Reporting to the Senior Estimator, you will work on a 12-month term to help the team prepare for bid submissions and manage project data. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Mississauga, Ontario.
What you'll do#
- Analyze project documents, specifications, proposals, and addendums to prepare for pricing.
- Perform quantity take-offs from construction drawings.
- Research and obtain pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assist with RFQs, RFIs, and prequalification submissions.
- Help create estimates for bids, including labour, equipment, material, rentals, and subcontracts.
- Attend site visits and provide technical support to field staff.
- Maintain estimating data systems and project files.
- Coordinate scope changes and ensure compliance with risk management policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Civil, Construction, Electrical, or Business Diploma or Degree program.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and contract documents.
- Strong computer skills, specifically in MS Excel, Word, Project, and estimating software.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel as required.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- Compensation: $20 - $25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
