About the role#
Akuna Capital is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join the User Interface team for a 10-week summer program. You will work alongside traders, quants, and other engineers to build and maintain real-time trading applications. You will take ownership of a project and present your work at the end of the term. This is a full-time, paid position located in Chicago.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop Windows desktop applications using C# .NET and WinForms/WPF.
- Implement unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
- Evaluate and implement technologies to improve user experience and development efficiency.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development cycles.
- Shadow the application support process.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- Graduation date by August 2028.
- Major GPA of 3.5 or above.
- Understanding of the .NET Framework and C# programming language.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on the first day of employment.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming, design patterns, version control systems like Git, and unit testing frameworks is helpful.
