About the role#
As a Quantitative Development & Strategy Intern, you will join our 10-week Akunacademy program. You will work alongside researchers, traders, and engineers to influence our trading decisions and performance. This is a full-time, paid internship based in our Chicago office for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop production code for trading strategies, including pricing models, execution logic, and performance optimization.
- Analyze and incorporate market signals into our existing trading systems.
- Improve our current codebase and propose new technical solutions.
What you'll need#
- You are pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Data Science.
- You have a strong background in Python programming.
- You have experience with object-oriented programming.
- You have exposure to linear algebra and introductory statistics.
- You hold a GPA of 3.5 or above.
- You must graduate by August 2027.

- Compensation: The minimum annualized base salary starts at $130,000.
