    About the role#

    Alcon is seeking Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering interns for our 2027 Summer Internship Program. You will work on real-world projects alongside professionals to build technical skills and gain industry experience. This is a full-time, 10 to 12-week program.

    What you'll do#

    • Create rapid prototypes using CAD design, 3D printing, mechanical assembly, and lab testing.
    • Support injection-molding setup, process development, machine operation, and workflow optimization.
    • Design or improve custom tabletop equipment for research applications.
    • Evaluate metrology methods, measurement accuracy, and process standardization, including updates to procedures.
    • Design mechanical systems that integrate with metrology equipment and robotic arms for automated measurement.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an accredited university for at least one semester before and after the internship.
    • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, biomedical, biomechanical, manufacturing, industrial, or plastics engineering.
    • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0.
    • Ability to commit to a full-time, 40-hour work week for the duration of the internship.
    • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

    • This is an on-site, paid internship.
    • Locations include Fort Worth, TX; Lake Forest, CA; Johns Creek, GA; Houston, TX; and Goleta, CA.
