About the role#
Allegion is seeking a Robotics Technician intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, 12-week internship based at our Indianapolis facility. You will work alongside engineers, technicians, and operators to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on developing and maintaining robotic processes within our fabrication department.
What you'll do#
- Develop robotic processes for the fabrication department.
- Establish baselines and maintain measurements for robot productivity.
- Troubleshoot robotic systems and cell issues.
- Recommend, evaluate, and implement process improvements.
- Participate in the installation of new robotic processes.
- Optimize robot programming and analyze part movement through the process.
- Research and recommend new programming techniques and technology.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Training and experience in multi-axis robots, robot maintenance, robotic programming, and PLC Ladder Logic programming.
- Ability to establish priorities and manage time effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter attitude with a willingness to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Preferred: Progress toward a degree in Robotics Technology or Computer Integrated Manufacturing.
- Preferred: Working knowledge of motor controllers and abrasive products.
- Majors considered: Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Industrial Engineering.
