About the role#
The Threat and Vulnerability Management team protects American National by identifying, assessing, and reducing security risks across the enterprise. As an intern, you will gain exposure to vulnerability management processes, security tools, and remediation efforts that support our cybersecurity strategy. This role provides hands-on project work and professional development during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Identify and track vulnerabilities across company systems and assets.
- Support monthly patching and remediation activities.
- Perform vulnerability scans and review the results.
- Assist with remediation verification and follow-up tasks.
- Contribute to program documentation and process improvement initiatives.
- Participate in team meetings, projects, and collaborative activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university with junior standing or higher.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Pursuit of a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts and security best practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- The role is based on-site in either League City, Texas, or Houston, Texas.
- Candidates must be able to work on-site at the designated location.
