About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment. You will join the Industrial & Systems Engineering team to improve performance through data analysis and practical engineering. You will work alongside manufacturing leaders and frontline employees to develop solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and quality.
What you'll do#
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and data.
- Engage with stakeholders across manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and finance.
- Test solutions and drive recommendations through to implementation.
- Perform time studies and workflow observations.
- Evaluate workstations for ergonomic risks.
- Conduct production analyses to identify bottlenecks and labor utilization improvements.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Operations Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Completed your junior year by the start of the internship.
- Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and April 2028.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of data analysis, statistical methods, and process improvement methodologies.
- Experience with manufacturing process analysis, capacity modeling, and work measurement.
- Familiarity with SQL Server, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Ability to use AI tools for research and problem-solving.
- Strong initiative and the ability to work with limited direction.
Location & details#
- Location: Ada, Michigan.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: This is an on-site role. You must report in-person to Ada Monday through Thursday, with Friday as a remote optional day.
- Employment: Full-time paid internship.
