About the role#
Ardurra is hiring a Transportation Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This full-time, paid position offers exposure to real-world engineering assignments that support municipalities and public agencies. You will build technical skills while working alongside professionals on various transportation projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and analysis of transportation infrastructure, including roadway, drainage, signing, and pavement markings.
- Prepare engineering drawings, technical memoranda, reports, and specifications.
- Conduct transportation design, modeling, engineering calculations, and material quantity take-offs.
- Participate in field investigations, site inspections, measurements, and field tests.
- Contact vendors for budgetary quotes and assist with construction cost estimates.
- Support project scheduling, permitting, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Review design drawings for accuracy and adherence to standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams under close supervision.
- Familiarity with Bentley or Autodesk software, such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, or GIS, is preferred.
