About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking a Claims Representative intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. You will work with our team to help individuals and businesses recover after a loss occurs.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims by phone, mail, and on-site visits.
- Assemble facts to determine policy coverage.
- Evaluate the amount of loss and analyze legal liability.
- Decide to pay or deny losses.
- Ensure claims payments are issued accurately and on time.
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build your knowledge.
- Assist with the resolution of claims, which may include attending depositions, mediations, arbitrations, or trials.
- Support the needs of agents and policyholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, entering your junior or senior year.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration or Economics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and interpret data.
- Capacity to resolve complex issues and manage multiple assignments.
- Detail-oriented approach to work.
- Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
